Terms of Service

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. ContextOwl is built for brand marketers and agencies acting in a business capacity, not for personal/consumer use.

ContextOwl generates a snapshot report showing how third-party AI systems (currently ChatGPT/OpenAI, Gemini/Google, and Perplexity, with additional engines available as paid add-ons) describe a brand you specify, based on prompts you configure or that we auto-generate. Reports are point-in-time snapshots, not continuous monitoring — we don’t offer subscriptions, scheduled re-checks, or real-time alerts, and nothing in these Terms should be read as promising ongoing tracking.

Important — read this alongside our AI Use Disclaimer: the report content reflects what those third-party AI systems said at the moment we asked. We don’t control those systems, we can’t guarantee their outputs are accurate, complete, or unbiased, and the same question can get a different answer tomorrow. A report is diagnostic evidence, not a guarantee about what any AI system will say in the future.

Signing in uses email + one-time passcode (no password to manage or lose). You’re responsible for keeping access to your email account secure, since that’s how we verify it’s you. Tell us right away if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

ContextOwl is pay-per-use. There is no subscription, no auto-renewal, and no recurring charge of any kind — you configure a report, see the price, and pay once through Razorpay before the full report unlocks.

• Pricing and currency. Prices are set and displayed in Indian Rupees (₹). The amount shown to you before checkout is the exact amount Razorpay charges — no conversion, no estimate.
• Taxes. Displayed prices are flat amounts and don’t itemize tax. Any applicable tax is your responsibility to account for on your end unless we’re legally required to collect it, in which case we’ll say so at checkout.
• Payment processing. All payments are handled by Razorpay. We don’t store your card or payment credentials — Razorpay does, under its own security standards.
• Refunds. See our Refund Policy, which is part of these Terms by reference.

Your inputs. You retain ownership of the brand information, competitor lists, and prompts you provide or edit when configuring a report. You’re responsible for having the right to submit that information (for example, if you’re an agency configuring a report on behalf of a client, you’re confirming you’re authorized to do so).

Your reports. Once generated, a report is yours to use — download it, share it internally, put it in front of a client or your boss, that’s the point. You may not resell, sublicense, or represent a ContextOwl report as a product of any other company.

Third-party excerpts. Reports include verbatim excerpts from third-party AI system outputs, reproduced for factual and diagnostic purposes as part of the analysis. Those excerpts belong to whoever generated them (the AI vendor or the underlying source they cited) — our inclusion of them in your report doesn’t transfer any rights in that content to you or to us beyond what’s needed to deliver the report.

Our content. The ContextOwl name, the Owl Mark, the site, the report format, the underlying scoring methodology, and all software are our property (or our licensors’). You get a limited, non-exclusive right to use the Service as intended — nothing here gives you rights to our brand, design system, or software beyond that.

Feedback. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we can use them without owing you anything for it. We won’t claim you endorsed ContextOwl by giving feedback.

In short: don’t scrape or reverse-engineer the Service, don’t use reports to make false public claims about a competitor, don’t abuse the free-tool or widget flow to bypass payment, and don’t resell account access.

The Service may link to or rely on third-party sites and providers (including the AI systems we analyze, and infrastructure vendors listed in our Privacy Policy). We’re not responsible for third-party content, availability, or practices — check their own terms if you interact with them directly.

You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service, or if we reasonably believe your account poses a risk to us or other users. Where practical, we’ll tell you why. Reports you’ve already paid for and downloaded remain yours regardless of later account termination.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We don’t warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any AI system’s output (as reflected in your report) is accurate, current, or complete. We don’t warrant that acting on a report’s recommendations will improve how any AI system describes your brand — that depends on factors outside our control, including the AI vendors’ own systems, which change independent of us.

No liability for AI engine data. ContextOwl does not control, and makes no representation or warranty of any kind regarding, the accuracy, completeness, currency, or reliability of any data, answer, or citation produced by a third-party AI engine (including ChatGPT/OpenAI, Gemini/Google, Perplexity, and any other engine we analyze). AI engine output can be stale, outdated, factually incorrect, or inconsistent between runs, for reasons entirely outside our control — including model updates, changes to the underlying web sources an engine draws on, and the non-deterministic way these systems generate answers. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ContextOwl is not liable for any loss, damage, or business decision arising from reliance on AI-engine-sourced content that a report reproduces, summarizes, or analyzes, or for any inaccuracy in that content. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ContextOwl’s total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the specific report giving rise to the claim, or ₹1,000 if you haven’t made a purchase. We’re not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost business or lost profits arising from decisions made based on a report.

You agree to hold us harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or content you submit that infringes someone else’s rights.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and courts in Bangalore, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. Before filing a formal claim, please contact us at team@contextowl.com so we can try to resolve it informally first. Where informal resolution doesn’t work, disputes are subject to arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seated in Bangalore. Nothing in this section limits any protection you’re entitled to under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. We may update these Terms as the product changes. Material changes will be posted here with an updated "Last updated" date, and where practical we’ll give advance notice before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the update.
