Cookie Policy

Last updated: 2026-10-07

This page explains the cookies and similar technologies (like local storage) ContextOwl uses, and why.

Strictly necessary

These are required for the Service to function and can’t be turned off.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Service (which pages get visited, where people drop off in the widget, general usage patterns), and may add other analytics tools over time.

Name/purposeSet byWhy
Usage/event and traffic analyticsGoogle AnalyticsPage views, widget step completion/drop-off, feature usage, site traffic sources, general audience data
Anonymous visitor ID (co_vid)ContextOwl (first-party)A random ID kept for up to 180 days, so we can count how many different visitors arrive from our free tools and comparison pages and how many go on to start a report. It contains no personal information, isn’t linked to your account, and isn’t shared with anyone

Analytics cookies are set by default, without a separate consent step — see "Your choices" below for how to opt out.

Marketing

We don’t currently use third-party advertising or retargeting cookies. Our one marketing touchpoint — the paywall-abandonment reminder email (see Privacy Policy) — is sent via email, not tracked via cookie.

Your choices

Strictly necessary cookies can’t be disabled without breaking sign-in and checkout. You can opt out of analytics cookies by blocking or deleting them via your browser settings, or by using a browser extension that blocks Google Analytics, at any time.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update the "Last updated" date above whenever our cookie usage changes, including if we add analytics vendors beyond Google Analytics.
