Refund Policy
Last updated: 2026-09-29
ContextOwl is pay-per-use — you pay once for a specific report, and it unlocks immediately. Because a report is a digital product delivered instantly upon payment, our refund approach is different from a subscription you can cancel before the next billing cycle. Here’s exactly when a refund applies.
When you’re eligible for a refund
- We failed to deliver. Your payment went through but the report didn’t generate, didn’t unlock, or was materially incomplete (e.g., an engine you paid for never ran) due to a fault on our end. Full refund, no questions asked.
- Duplicate charge. You were charged twice for the same report due to a checkout or payment error. We’ll refund the duplicate.
- Unauthorized charge. Someone used your payment method without your permission. Contact us and we’ll work with Razorpay to investigate.
When a refund generally isn’t available
- You changed your mind after seeing the report. Because the report is delivered instantly and in full at the moment of payment, "I didn’t like what it said" or "I found the results less useful than expected" isn’t grounds for a refund — you’re paying for the diagnostic result itself, including if that result is a report showing your brand isn’t well-represented in AI answers (which, to be direct, is often the most useful outcome for you to know, not a defect in the product).
- The AI systems’ answers changed after your report was generated. Reports are snapshots. AI engine outputs are inherently variable and can change independent of anything ContextOwl does (see our AI Use Disclaimer) — a different result on a later check isn’t a basis for refunding an earlier report.
- You configured the report incorrectly (wrong URL, wrong competitors, prompts that didn’t reflect what you meant to ask) and it generated successfully based on what you entered.
How to request a refund
Email team@contextowl.com with your report ID or transaction ID and what happened. We aim to respond within 2 business days. Approved refunds are issued back to your original Razorpay payment method and may take several business days to appear, depending on your bank/card issuer.
If you’re in the EU/EEA
Digital content delivered immediately with your consent, where you’ve acknowledged you lose the statutory right of withdrawal by requesting instant delivery, is excluded from the standard 14-day cooling-off period under EU consumer law. We’ll ask for that acknowledgment at checkout before your report generates, consistent with this.
If you’re in India
This refund policy is displayed to you before you complete payment, consistent with the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020. ContextOwl is operated by Parikshram Technologies Pvt Ltd (Bangalore, Karnataka, India); see our Terms of Service for full governing-law details.
